Analysis of The Charge Of The Light Brigade by Alfred Lord...
Analysis of The Charge Of The Light Brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson The second poem I an going to analyse is The Charge Of The Light Brigade, it is about the Crimean War. It is a famous Regiment of 600 men. The poem was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The poem was based on a newspaper account describing a battle. The article glorified the slaughter of men. The commander didnt understand the orders given to him to replace some guns held by the Russians and he sent them up the wrong valley. All that had happened is someone had blundered even the soldiers knew that. On the first two lines the repetition of half a leagueis getting the poem into a rhythm of galloping horses, This addsâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Forward the light brigade, this is direct speech and into the valley of death is where Tennyson is slowly building up repitition. On the second verse the second line is the most relevant one in this verse was their a man dismayed? this is a rhetorical question as it is obvious the soldier wouldnt be dismayed because the job as a soldier is but to do and die this is how a soldiers response would be as it is their duty to just do as they are told. Verse 3 is all about the battle commencing as it tells us all the noises of battle. Cannon to the left and right, Volleyed and thundered refer to the sound of cannons, a noise that would confuse or scare someone but not these soldiers although they are stormed at with shot and shellthey still ride on boldly. The use of alliteration adds to the feeling of noise and confusion. The image of face with a mouth represents the valley into which the soldiers are riding again this image should scare some people but not these brave soldiers who are willing to lay down their lives for their country. In verse 4 the start of the first and second lines start with flashed and this is repeated to show a glorious idea of light turning the sabres and killing the opposition. Sabering the gunners there, it sounds as if the British were winning the battle but they were not. The word plunged sounds like the charge is force fullShow MoreRelatedAnalysis of Lord Alfred Tennysonà ´s The Charge of the Light Brigade561 Words à |à 3 Pagesand well, into the jaws of Death, into the mouth of Hell.â⬠That is an excerpt from Lord Alfred Tennysons Charge of the Light Brigade, a poem highlighting the honor and death of war. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn written by Mark Twain is a great American novel about the life of Huck Finn. Huck is a boy without a real family and the son of the townââ¬â¢s outcast and drunk. In the book, Huck ends up attempting to free Jim, a black slave. During Huckââ¬â¢s journey down the Mississippi river, three meaningful subjects are explored in education, religion, and civilized society that are still relevant today. Huck goes to church with the Grangerfords, who are currently in a bloody feud with their neighbors the Sheperdsons. Huck describes it as . . . pretty ornery preaching-all about brotherly love(139). Both families say that it was good sermon. Yet, the next d ay they kill each other off during their family feud. Twain effectively demonstrates the hypocrisy in religions everywhere at that time. Another time, a religious congregation blindly trusts the King,

Many DBMSs also support theà Open Database Connectivityà APIà that supports a standard way for programmers to access the DBMS. Before the database management approach, organizations relied on file processing systems to organize, store, and process data files. End users criticized file processing because the data is stored in many different files and each organized in a different way. Each file was specialized to be used with a specific application. File processing was bulky, costly and inflexible when it came to supplying needed data accurately and promptly. Data redundancy is an issue with the file processing system because the independent data files produce duplicate data so when updates were needed each separate file would need to be updated. Another issue is the lack of data integration. The data is dependent on other data to organize and store it.
